Vranov dam is a popular summer spot for holidays. It was built in 1930’s. The name was given after the historical village of Vranov nad Dyji – founded in 1100 AD.
Vranov dam is a well known holiday spot. It has a sandy beach with warm water (warmest water reservoir in CZ). The dam is suitable for wind-surfing, yachting, and fishing. Access by car is only possible from Vranov nad Dyjí or from Štítary.
The dam was built between 1930 and 1933 and is 762.5 hectares.
Vranov castle is located on the Dyje river, close to the Vranov dam. It was founded in 1100 and rebuilt in 1665 to its current shape. The castle is open from April to October.
